I can’t believe how far down the French Laundry has dropped on the list. But its great to see another Singaporean restaurant break the top 50; especially with the horde of new megastar celebrity chefs opening up restaurants in Singapore over the next few months, I can definitely see Michelin coming into Singapore, I just hope that the restaurants don’t jack up their prices after getting their stars. Dare I say it, I’m kind of glad El Bulli got knocked off it’s perch, 4 years at the top is a long, long time, and any kind of strong competition is always good. Ironically though, chef  Rene  Redzepi had previously worked at El Bulli, the culinary reach of the (former) best restaurant in the world is still ginormous. On a side note, I should, I will, I must have the tasting menu at Jaan Par Andre soon.
